Password Questions

1.
Are Usernames and Passwords "case sensitive"?No,
you may disregard whether characters are upper or lower case, and you
may interchange upper and lower case any way you wish. You must,
however, use the correct characters in the correct order.
2. Can I use my Username and Password to login from other
computers?Yes,
you can log in from any computer with the current version of FxMoneyMap
properly installed. If you log in from a second computer while still
logged in from the first computer, the first connection will be dropped
by the Price Server, and the second connection will succeed in
establishing a price feed.
Login Questions Return to Top
1.
"Price Data Server Login was unsuccessful. The likely cause was an
invalid username or password."This
message is given when the username and password as entered do not match
a valid username and password combination. Please check the spelling of
your Username and Password carefully, and try again.
This message is also given when your Data Feed subscription is expired or has been cancelled.
2. "Trading account login failed. The User ID and or Password for your trading account is not valid"
3. "Event reporting. Cannot connect with Broker"
This error is specific to the Trading portion of Forex Money Map software.
An "Event" occurs in a "snapshot" of time. When you see this report it is
because at that moment of time FXMM was unable to connect to the Broker.
There may be several reasons for this:
At 5:00 PM the Broker stops trading
for approximately 15 minutes for "Rollover" and during that time their
server does not respond.
It could also happen at any other time of day when at that single moment
FXMM sent a message to the Broker's Trade Server and did not get a response.
It is not a permanent condition. You should be able to use the Margin
Blotter button or any of the M, D, or P buttons to reach the Broker or
test if you can. For more on internet trading issues, see this article:

Software
Issues Return to Top
1. What Operating Systems will Forex Money Map run on?
FxMoneyMap is programmed to use the Microsoft .NET framework and is
supported on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 running both 32 bit and 64 bit Operating Systems. We
have reports of FxMoneyMap running successfully on Windows 2000, Windows Millennium
Edition and even on Windows 98, but we do not support those operating
systems. We also have reports of FXMoneyMap running successful on Macs using a bridging software, but again, we do not support that setup.
2. Are there firewall issues with FxMoneyMap?If
you are using a local firewall such as Trend Micro, Zone Alarm, Norton, or MacAffee
you will likely be alerted to a new process wanting access. If that
occurs, choose the option that will "Always Allow" FxMoneyMap to access
the internet or your system.
Advanced users and system
administrators may want to know that FxMoneyMap requires your firewall
be set to allow outbound connections from ports 32705 and 32706.
3. I am having trouble installing FxMoneyMap at work. Can you work with
my IT Administrator?
4. My Grid has stopped updating. What causes this? The
Grids stop at 5:00 PM EST every Friday when the market closes, and any
other time the market is closed, such as special holidays. Another
problem can be that we do not have incoming prices to report at that
time. This is a rare occurrence, but it can happen and has happened.
5. Why else would my Grid stop?If
your computer loses its connection to our Price Server, your Grids will
stop. The most common reason for loss of connection to our Price Server
is temporary internet degradation between your computer and the Price
Server. Your Grid should restart automatically as soon as your internet
connection has been re-established.
The FxMoneyMap software shows
you your connection status by color codes. Keep a watchful eye on the
status bar at the bottom of your main FxMoneyMap window.
6. Do you have specific Computer Internet connection recommendations?FxMoneyMap
is a professional grade data flow system. It requires a much more
reliable internet connection than simply browsing wesites. A reliable
broadband connection is required for best results. DSL, Cable, or T1
are recommended. Dial up and satellite connections are not recommended,
and can cause problems.
Avoid
using a connection where any part of it is wireless, if at all
possible. Air Cards can be particularly problematic, since they are the
equivalent of using a cell phone dial up connection.
Be sure
you are using the latest version of FxMoneyMap. If you have received an email or
a message telling you to update your installation, be sure you do it. It is very
easy to do. See the FAQ section "Upgrade Instructions".
7. Can I check my internet speed?Yes, you can check your bandwidth, which is your upload and download capacity, by going to:
www.dslreports.com/stest .
I highly recommend checking your internet speed at different times of
the day. You may discover when to expect problems, and you will know if
you are getting what you are paying for.

Setup
Meter Return to Top
1. How and when do I open the Setup Meter? To open the Setup Meter: Click on the Up Arrow Down Arrow Icon. That is the first Icon on the row of Icons below the File menu.
Opening
the Setup Meter will load the data for all 22 currency pairs. This
download should take from 2-5 minutes depending on the speed of your
internet connection.
Once the data is loaded into your Forex Money
Map software, any Grid or Chart of the standard time frames will open
instantly when requested.
If you experience long download times
for the Setup Meter, it usually means your internet connection is not
stellar. You may want to only use the Setup Meter at certain times, or
not at all, in an effort to keep your system running quickly and
smoothly. If you are having problems caused by slow or inconsistent
internet connections, please consider upgrading to the best connection
you can.
2. How do I use the Setup Meter?
The Setup Meter scans all available currency pairs and alerts you graphically whenever
there is a Grid setup or as one develops.
Andy refers to the right hand section of the Setup Meter as the "Petrol
Gauge". It consists of 2 values for each pair: The Clear Gap coefficient, and
the Safety Net coefficient.
The higher the value of the Clear Gap coefficient, the clearer the road ahead
is. The higher the value of the Safety Net coefficient, the denser and more
solid the Safety Net.
You will notice the Arrows light up in the Risk Grade section from right to
left. The more arrows, the stronger the setup.
3. Setup Meter ObservationsWhen there is no setup indicated for a currency, there are actually two
possibilities for the question "why?".
One possibility is that you are waiting for a setup to take shape. Perhaps
colored boxes on the Grid are too far away or there are both colors of boxes
surrounding price.
Another possibility is that the trade has already started, and has therefore
moved away from its setup. At this point, if you are not in the trade, you
should consider standing aside and waiting for another trade.
Note: If you have just had, or are in the middle of a very fast and
far move, you will not see the longer time frames catch up, or consolidate, to
the point of showing a setup. The colored boxes may be too far away, so there
will not be a setup indicated by the calculations used by the Setup Meter.
4. Another Feature....Saves Monitor space
Once you have the Setup Meter open and populated with data, you can open any
Grid from it by simply double clicking on the name of the currency pair. Also, you can stack up your Grids on top of one another. Then when you double
click on a currency pair name on the Setup Meter, that Grid comes to the front,
and is visible.
